Memory

The project Memory consists series of abstract posters. I was inspired by the documentary film The Mind, Explained: "Memory."

INSPIRATION

The Mind, Explained: Memory

About the Documentary Film

The Explained series is a short documentary created by Vox, an American web-based news media. The videos and infographics are clear and easy to follow the whole story.

The first episode of The Mind, Explained: Memory has two main contents; three factors that affect memory and the distortion and importance of memory.

PROGRESS

Writing

After watching the documentary films, I wrote my reflections about the "memory." And below notes were helpful to make two final posters.

  • Memory and feeling are deeply connected and in a constant state of influencing each other.

Memories imply every emotion of the past time, and maybe we all live in that changing fragments of memories and complex emotions.

Memories remain in our reminiscence and are often transformed by memory mechanisms such as combining, juxtaposing, mixing, amplifying, and disruption.

  • Each individual's past, present, and future coexist in one line of life. Ultimately, we are all on a long journey of life and constantly trying to discover and develop the world called "us."

To develop ourselves in a better future, memory exists and is needed at every moment to reflect on the past since all the examples mentioned above provide sufficient evidence that it could motivate the future.

Reflecting on past experiences and memories is a fuel to shape ourselves even better, such as learning from failure, which leads us to take positive action, not to regret or look back.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIMENTAL CREATIONS

I recreated with additional materials, such as rocks, metallic marble, textured papers to support my ideas. Also, I printed and handwritten my scripts to deliver them once again.
